The Faux Museum: Gallery & Store [FM: GaS] is a conceptual art museum that houses rotating exhibits{They actually do not rotate like a chicken on a spit but they do change often}. We also have a gift store in front and lots of other interesting objects for sale like postcards, notebooks, books, bell jars, odd animals, wrapping paper, records of all speeds, Junker Jane dolls, t-shirts, bumper stickers, patches and the world's only remaining woolly ant. As a matter of fact we are the oldest museum in the world, first begun in the plains of Alaska over ten thousand years ago!
We are located at 139 NW 2nd Avenue in the Old Town section of Portland, Oregon. Our current curator Tom Richards began curating with the Faux Museum twenty years ago right here in Portland. We guarantee you've never seen anything like The Faux. We’re kind of a cross between The Natural History Museum in New York, a Flaming Lips show and that one really, really, really odd dream you had that one time. No, not that one (that's gross) the other one. Some people see us as a critical thinking museum with a sense of humor.
